Modern shoulder replacement, replacing only the head, without stem

• This 40 year old lady presented with pain in the shoulder for few years. On x-ray. It was noticed that there was damage to the ball of the shoulder. Such shoulder damage cannot be corrected by medication, and hence, replacement of the ball was the only option. Considering her age, it was decided to replace the head with minimum tinkering with the shoulder. For this, a new implant called stem-less ball replacement was done. She improved very well.
