Case of the month

Failed surgery done else where treated successfully by arthroscopic surgery

  • 30 yr old lady with h/o road traffic accident 3 months back in which she had a shoulder fracture, the fracture was fixed back through open surgery but her pain continued.

She visited us 3 months later with pain and X ray revealed that the fragment was not fixed back in place properly and the screws were prominent. Arthroscopic screw removal was done and the broken fragment containing the pulleys of the shoulder (rotator cuff) was fixed back. The patients pain was relieved and has almost full range of motion in the shoulder at 2 month follow up.
