last decade. The most significant is due to big
role of arthroscopic surgery. As in the knee, more
and more hitherto undiagnosed shoulder problems
can be diagnosed by arthroscopic examination of
the shoulder. Also, practically all operations which
were done till now by open technique, can now be
performed by arthroscopic surgery. Some of the established
arthroscopic shoulder operations are that for treatment
of repeated dislocation of shoulder, for repair
of ruptured shoulder muscles (rotator cuff), for
removing the inflamed lining of the shoulder (synovectomy)
and for release of a stiff shoulder. Fast recovery
and minimal pain are the most important benefits.

functioning. The current techniques and implants
have resulted in improvement of results. Replacement

performed operation with good results.
